Started working through the Operating Engineers in 1959 on Heavy Equipment for 12 yrs. Joined Army and ended up in Germany was a SP/5 where I met my spouse. went to work for Operating Engineers Local 286 in 1974 and became the Business Manager, and Financial Secretary. Was elected as Trustee of International then as an International General VP until Retirement in in 2004. For a few years I was selected by the Governor as a Commissioner to help set the salaries for all elected state officials (Judges, Senators, Representatives and Governor)
Have been a Marathoner and Ultramarathoner, I competed for about 10 years riding a Motorcycle event called English Trials.
I now collect and work on and show old cars. I have a 1931 Buick Rumbleseat Convertable, 1949 Triumph Roadster 2000,1955 Mercedes 300SLR, and a 1956 Continental Mark II.
I still participate on two Apprenticeship Committees I originally formed,and am on Tacoma's Steam Certification Committee through Bates Technical College. I started a Scholarship through Renton Technical College for Tutoring Students that need a little additional help.
